Antique French Gemstone Mineralogy Study Lithograph - Smoky Quartz
Smoky quartz s a grey, translucent variety of quartz that ranges in clarity from almost complete transparency to an almost-opaque brownish-gray or black crystal. Like other quartz gems, it is a silicon dioxide crystal. The smoky colour results from free silicon formed from the silicon dioxide by natural irradiation.

Framed in ebonized wood with two sided glass to view the scientific description on the backside. The published by Erich Cramer, a German publicist who published many scientific books in the 1940's and 1950's. Pages taken from the French Society of the Book S.A., 57, Road of the Street of the University, Paris 7th.
