Quartz is a hard, crystalline mineral composed of silicon and oxygen atoms. Since antiquity, varieties of quartz have been the most commonly used minerals in the making of jewelry and hardstone carvings, especially in Eurasia.


Listed is an antique French mineralogy lithograph. Printed on thick antique paper with no yellowing or foxing. Framed in ebonized wood with two sided glass to view the scientific description on the backside. The published by Erich Cramer, a German publicist who published many scientific books in the 1940's and 1950's. Pages taken from the French Society of the Book S.A., 57, Road of the Street of the University, Paris 7th.


The "matte" is the blank glass space between the frame and lithograph.
