Azurite is a soft, deep-blue copper mineral produced by weathering of copper ore deposits. During the early 19th century, it was also known as chessylite, after the type locality at Chessy-les-Mines near Lyon, France.

Listed is an antique French mineralogy lithograph. Printed on thick antique paper with no yellowing or foxing. Framed in ebonized wood with two sided glass to view the scientific description on the backside. The published by Erich Cramer, a German publicist who published many scientific books in the 1940's and 1950's. Pages taken from the French Society of the Book S.A., 57, Road of the Street of the University, Paris 7th.
